Jindalla Park Stud is located in the beautiful Hunter Valley New South Wales, Australia’s Horse Capital. Owned and operated by Peter & Amanda Riordan and their two son's Jack and Thomas.
This boutique stud is ideally situated on the outskirts of Murrurundi a rural town located in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales. Approximately 3.5hrs N/W of Sydney and only 50 minutes South of Tamworth. The historic town of Murrurundi is almost completely surrounded by mountains of the Liverpool Range, and is located on the Pages River, a tributary of the Hunter River.
The name "Murrurundi" is often erroneously thought to come from an Aboriginal word meaning "nestling in the valley". It does in fact mean "five fingers", a representation of the rock formation visible at the northern end of the township.
Jindalla Park Stud was established by Amanda in 1994, and relocated to the Hunter Valley in 2002. Since this time both Peter and Amanda have concentrated on producing a small number of quality and commercial stock.
Both Peter and Amanda are passioninate about their horses.
Peter’s love of horse’s (in particular big greys) came at an early age, which he admits was heavily influenced by his late grandfather Robert .P.Pritchard.
The word obsessed is how most describe Amanda’s love of horses, and it is no wonder as her family have a long history of horse ownership.
Together Peter and Amanda now breed and show Coloured Arabian Derivatives, Arabian Stockhorses and Australian Stock Horses.
The stud motto Breeding Horses to Work and Perform is exactly that, Jindalla Park horses can be seen competing in Breed Classes, Open Hack, Working Classes and Team Penning.
